The tech giant on Thursday officially announed that it will finally open not one, but two Apple Stores in the UAE, at Dubai's Mall of the Emirates and Abu Dhabi's Yas Mall on Thursday, October 29.
A "creative barricade" was unveiled at the two locations, designed by Arabic calligrapher Samir Sayegh, considered to be the "perfect way for Apple to say 'hello' to the UAE".
Apple declined to give further details; it has been widely speculated that the Dubai Apple Store would be the largest in the world, but nothing has been confirmed regarding this.
Customers can be part of the opening-day action by booking their store services reservation at www.apple.com/ae/retail/yasmall and www.apple.com/ae/retail/malloftheemirates.
The Mall of the Emirates store will open at 4pm, while the Yas Mall outlet will begin operations at 7pm.
When the $1 billion Mall of the Emirates extension was revealed on September 28, speculation was rife that the Apple Store would be opened.
It did not, and officials of both Apple, as well as the mall's operator Majid Al Futtaim Properties, remained mum on it, until today's announcement.
