JACKIE SHROFF'S SON Tiger entered the industry with a big bang. His first film Heropanti was a runaway hit in 2014. People were awed by his fighting skills, dancing ability, and innocent smile. It was reported that Aamir Khan was keen on launching him but producer Sajid Nadiadwala eventually ended up signing him. Heropanti turned out to be a good break for Tiger. Nobody though was praising his acting skills but nobody in the industry cares as long as the movie earns moolah at the box office. The industry found a new star. With Heropanti, Bollywood welcomed both Tiger and his co-star Kriti Sanon with open arms and plenty of opportunities. His second movie Baaghi with Shraddha Kapoor turned out to be a hit as well in 2016. Tiger then tasted failure for the first time with A Flying Jatt afew months later. His bad luck at the box office continued with Munna Michael in 2017.
People close to him reveal that he gets very sad talking about his failures. Tiger is known to be a painfully shy person.
He is now ready for his fifth film Baaghi 2 which releases in the UAE this weekend.
While talking to us over the phone about the movie, Tiger went at length to describe the transformation that he went through for the movie. We were surprised that it was all about his hair. In fact, there is a video floating around which shows his transformation for the movie. "The most apparent difference that you can see is my hair. As many know, I am very emotional when it comes to my hair. I was extremely emotional when they started cutting my hair. I was feeling very bad because I had long hair for the longest time. In most of my movies, I had long hair so it was painful to see them getting chopped. The idea was to renew me and get relaunched."
"We wanted to take the envelope much higher for the sequel of Baaghi so I trained really hard in other departments as well. I focused on learning new forms of fighting. I had to put on a little muscle because my character is a little older and is more mature than the previous film. It was a lot of transformation that I had to go through physically," Tiger added.
We wonder if we are wrong in thinking that actors should probably invest more time in constantly learning more about their craft, trying to become a better actor than caring just about vanity. We know looking good is important for movies but why don't we hear more about acting workshops?
Tiger's dedication towards martial arts and dancing is inspiring. He has been disciplined with his training in this art form since he was four years old. "Ever since I was a child, I was a fan of martial art forms. Since the age of four, I have had this passion for martial arts and I have been training for it. Even when I am not shooting for any movie, I am still training constantly."
The slot of an action star was empty in Bollywood after Akshay Kumar moved on to playing a common man in his recent films. It is a good place to be in but a film without a good story or content will not work at the box office even if you have world-class action in it.
But Tiger told us that apart from lots of action, there is a solid storyline in his upcoming suspense action love story. "I play an army officer. This film is about how I am completely cut off from real life and being in the army means everything to me. My country means everything to me until one day I get a call from my long lost love and she is in turmoil and the only person she can think of to help her is me. I go back to her and my life changes because of certain events that takes place when I see her in person. This film is completely different from the first part. Other than the character named Rony, there is no similarity to Baaghi."
His real-life girlfriend Disha Patani plays his leading lady in the movie, "She is the trigger for all the emotions that he goes through. He becomes a rebel for her." She was suppposed to make her debut with Baaghi. They met each other during the rehearsals and love bloomed. But she was overnight replaced with Shraddha Kapoor.
The real-life young couple are finally coming on the big screen this weekend. Even if this film doesn't work, Tiger doesn't have much to worry about since he has many big line-ups. He will soon begin shooting for Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2. "Student of the year 2 is a complete contrast to Baaghi 2 and I don't have much of an action role there." He is also doing a Yash Raj film with Hrithik Roshan and Vaani Kapoor. "Hrithik Roshan is the biggest inspiration for me. I am very excited to be working with him."
Apart from that, he is doing a film called Rambo which is an action film. And believe it or not, the sequel to Baaghi 2, Baaghi 3 is already in the planning and this was confirmed to us by Tiger.

To the director Ahmed with love
Tiger: Ahmed Khan is such a brilliant technician because he has been a choreographer most of his life. The treatment of each shot and the angles that he would choose would bring life in every scene. He asked for 79 days for the film and he finished the film in 69 days.
He was just so well prepared. He is such a passionate and energetic person. He was like a child on the set. He never leaves the set and the camera. He handles the camera himself. He knows how to light the frame and how to dance and direct. It was amazing to work with such an all-rounder.
Tiger talks about his girlfriend and co-star Disha
Tiger: Disha is an absolutely amazing woman. She is so comfortable in front of the camera. It is really nice to work with her because she gives you exactly what you want while enacting any scene. She is like any veteran actress when it comes to acting even though right now she is finding her foothold in the industry. She knows her craft very well and we got a great director Ahmed Khan to guide us through the film. He knew the film inside out and we delivered exactly what he wanted from us.
