The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Friday reported 3,140 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 4,349 recoveries and 20 deaths.

The new cases were detected through 169,526 additional tests.
The total number of cases in UAE as on February 19 are 365,017 while total recoveries stand at 351,715. The death toll rises to 1,093.
The UAE has conducted over 28.9 million tests till date as part of the country's massive screening programmes to combat the spread of Covid-19.
A new strain of coronavirus spreading in the Indian states of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh is reportedly more infectious than previous Covid-19 strains, according to experts.
According to Indian media reports, the new strain spreading in the districts of Amravati and Akola in Maharashtra is said to be more transmissible and can trigger pneumonia early in Covid patients.
Meanwhile, authorities in Dubai have shut down a travel agency for selling Covid-19 PCR tests over WhatsApp. The agency's illegal activities were discovered after a customer complained about the quality of their services to Dubai Economy. Only licensed medical facilities are permitted to offer PCR testing services.
