Under the wise guidance of the UAE leadership, workers in the health sector among other frontliners have courageously fought the scourge of Covid-19 coronavirus since the outbreak earlier this year - providing testing and treatment for all citizens and residents, in turn saving the lives of thousands.
Dubai Police has shared an inspirational survivor story of one of their colleagues - a Filipino - who contracted Covid-19 in the line of duty.
Taking to social media, Dubai Police shared the story of Bayan Kimamao, Head of the Nursing Unit at the Punitive and Correctional institutions, who was infected with the novel coronavirus. The force not only provided him treatment during his month-long coma battling Covid-19, but also provided full support for him and his family in the Philippines during his treatment until he fully recovered.

In the video Kimamao narrates his recovery story:
"One day, while working, I felt extremely tired and suddenly passed out. I suffered from kidney failure and was placed on dialysis, going into a state of comatose."
The Nursing Supervisor Office at Dubai Police contacted Kimamao's sister to inform her about his condition and treatment.
After 32 days in Intensive Care Unit, Kimamao regained consciousness, and was able to make video calls with his family.
Kimamao thanked Dubai Police for saving his life and supporting his family when he was in hospital
Paying tribute to their colleague, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, said, "Bayan is one of our heroes in Dubai police, who work relentlessly in the first line to defeat Covid-19 Pandemic. Thank you Bayan, thank you our Heroes."
