As the UAE is stepping up its fight against the new coronavirus (Covid-19), the Emirati business community is showing its solidarity and support. Generous contributions are pouring in cash and kind as many big-hearted businessmen have pledged to stand by the government and its people in fighting the global pandemic.

Abdul Rahim Al Zarooni has allocated Dh10 million to support medical and preventive supplies in Dubai. "The participation of all the people of the country in confronting difficult situations is an obligation that cannot
be overlooked so that our state remains a symbol of security and safety," said Zarouni.
"There is a common responsibility that everyone should take part in, to double efforts and provide all that is required, so the UAE remains a model in ensuring the best lifestyle for everybody who lives on its soil, as well as its visitors," he added.
Khalaf Al Habtoor, CEO, Al Habtoor Group
Khalaf Al Habtoor has donated 50 state-of-the-art ambulance vehicles and a medically-equipped building to be used for quarantine purposes. Al Habtoor said he will establish an integrated virology laboratory for medical research to support global efforts in the fight against the Coronavirus.
"We are pleased to offer our support to government to help it respond with full force to this urgent challenge. We ask God Almighty to help us and the world to overcome this crisis safely. Our support is in light of the precautionary and preventive measures that the state has taken since the early discovery of the virus," said Al Habtoor.

Al Futtaim Group has set up a fund of Dh100 million for retailers at its malls in Dubai. The fund will cover up to three months' rent relief for 'eligible' tenants, who run the risk of being caught in business disruption and slowdown.

Emirati national Mohamed Ghaith bin Maha Al Mazrouie has given the UAE authorities full access to his residential compound at Khalifa (A) city to turn into a quarantine facility. The compound consists of 50 luxurious rooms with separate toilets.

Emirati national Mohamed Al Abdouli in Ajman has given UAE authorities full access to his showroom in Ajman to turn into a quarantine facility. The showroom is fully-equipped with health equipment worth Dh1 million.

Dar Al Ber Society on Saturday announced that an Emirati family business group has donated ambulances and medical equipment worth about Dh12 million. They said the donation includes 11 ambulance vehicles valued at Dh7 million, 50 defibrillators worth Dh2.5 million and 50 mechanical ventilators worth Dh2.5 million. All the vehicles and equipment will be delivered to Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.
