UAE Covid vaccine: Minimum age to get jab now 16

Dubai - Latest update will help authorities vaccinate the maximum number of people against the coronavirus.

UAE citizens and residents aged 16 years and above can now get the Covid-19 vaccine.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention said the latest update is in line with its keenness to vaccinate the maximum number of people against the coronavirus.


Previously, the minimum age to get the vaccine was 18 years.

The UAE continues to take top spot globally when it comes to vaccinating “medically eligible” residents against Covid-19.

The country has achieved a vaccine distribution rate of 25.12 doses per 100 people in this particular category.

The UAE vaccinated 84,852 residents against Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The total doses administered now stands at 1.88 million.
