Dubai - Forty-three per cent of respondents said that they would also continue using contactless payment methods, going forward
Nearly half of consumers (49%) surveyed in the UAE have been opting more for online shopping as a result of the pandemic, according to a study by Dubai Economy.
The results of the survey, shared by the authority on Monday, revealed that the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact how consumers are carrying out shopping transactions in the UAE.
Forty-three per cent of respondents said that they would also continue using contactless payment methods, going forward.
Covid-19 has been the reason many have made the switch, the study showed.
Forty-eight per cent said that they would prefer online payments, even if a cash-on-delivery option is available.
Meanwhile, three out of five (61%) are now using cards or digital wallets to make the process of online transactions easier, as opposed to opting for cash on delivery.
