Jaffery Dubai beat Nairobi, win title

DUBAI - Defending champions Jaffery Sports Dubai retained their hold on the Jaffery Uraifiki tournament beating Nairobi by three wickets in the final in Africa, according to a press release.

Batting first, Nairobi posted 154 for 6 in 20 overs. The Dubai team scored the winning runs in 19.3 overs for the loss of seven wickets with Abul Hasan firing 61 runs in 24 balls, including seven sixes. He was later named the man-of-the-match.

Earlier, Dubai lost to Mombasa by three runs in the opening match. They, however, bounced back in the second match, defeating Dar B by 87 runs. In the semi-finals, Dubai scored a two-wicket victory over Dar A to storm into the final. Muntazir Hussain of Dubai won the best batsman of the tournament award.

Zuhair Hemraj led the squad while Ali Hussein Kassam (Mombassa), Kazim Suleman, Shakir Alibhai, Abul Hasan, Muntazir Husain, Mohamed Imran Baksh, Syed Haider Baadshah, Abul Qasim (vice-captain), Ammar Suleman, Mujtaba Sultan Ali, Johar Husain were the other members of Jaffery Sports Dubai team.
