LAHORE, Pakistan - Suspended Pakistan captain Salman Butt says he is “pretty sure” he’ll be cleared of spot-fixing allegations.
Butt will appear before the International Cricket Council’s code of conduct commission in Dubai this weekend to answer the claims.
The ICC suspended Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif in September after British tabloid The News of the World accused them of accepting money from businessman Mazhar Majeed for bowling predetermined no-balls against England during the Lord’s test.
Butt told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Majeed was looking after his promotional work and there was no clause in the Pakistan Cricket Board’s code of conduct that players should inform it about their agents.
