A man sentenced to two years in jail for with stealing gold and watches from his fiancee's home in Ras Al Khaimah has appealed the verdict.
The GCC national was accused of stealing Dh130,000 worth of jewellery from his fiancee's home last May, as per Emarat Al Youm report.
He then bought her a car and several gifts, from the stolen money.
The defence lawyer submitted a statement claiming his client suffers from psychological imbalance, depression and insomnia.
He is currently being treated at a hospital for his mental illness.
