Man denies molesting 8-year-old girl on beach

A man denied in the Court of First Instance the charge of molesting an eight-year-old girl on the beach.
The court was told the 38-year-old defendant from Eritrea stuck his body against the girl's and inappropriately touched her.
The girl's mother, a 36-year-old Russian tourist, said that at 7am on May 10, she took her daughter to Jumeirah Beach. "We had friends with us. Shortly later, we went to buy some cold drinks at the same place."
In the meantime, her daughter went to the outside showers. "There was a man standing there totally naked. He hugged my girl from behind and began to touch her. She pushed him and ran towards me."
The mother sought the help of the beachgoers to catch the defendant and restrain him while she called the police.
A verdict is expected on July 14.
