Abu Dhabi - The young driver has been referred to prosecutors

Abu Dhabi Police have arrested a 19-year-old after a video went viral on social media of him showing-off a dangerous driving stunt, and driving recklessly on wet grounds, where he eventually hit a pedestrian in front of a school in Al-Shamkha.
Police said the young driver, who was driving an unregistered vehicle during Tuesday's wet weather conditions, was swerving recklessly before he lost control of his car, and as a result, hitting a pavement and injuring a pedestrian.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohsen Al Mansouri, Head of Traffic Investigation at Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Department, said police arrested the young man that carried out the stunt in front of a crowd of youngsters.
He thus warned young drivers about such stunts, pointing out that those who exploit severe weather conditions and endanger their lives, as well as lives of others, will not go-off lightly.
Lieutenant Colonel Al Mansoori also urged parents to speak to their children about the dangers of stunt driving.
The young driver has been referred to prosecutors.
