A woman who used a traffic officer's ID card pass to evade parking fines for two months has been detained on felony charges in Dubai.
In the details, a Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) traffic officer had been on patrol in a paid parking area when he recognised a fellow traffic patrol officer's ID card pass in one of the vehicles.
He called the ID card owner, who informed him that he was not in the vicinity.
During their conversation, the owner of the car in question approached.
Upon questioning her, the Arab woman confessed to finding the ID pass on the ground nearly two months ago.
She had been using it ever since to evade parking payments.
She was referred to the Public Prosecution on charges of using an official document and benefitting from it without being authorised to do so.
