A British curriculum private school in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday launched a new campus that can accommodate about 1,800 students.
The Repton School Abu Dhabi's new campus, called Fry Campus, which started operating in September 2017, currently has 182 pupils aged 3-6. The school is planning to offer three more year groups (up to Year 9) for the academic year 2018-2019, which starts in September and will eventually provide specialist facilities for pupils aged 3-13.
The school's new campus occupies a 25,000 square metre plot on Al Reem Island, will be a significant addition to the existing campus of Repton Foundation School, Rose Campus, which opened in September 2013.
In terms of capacity, both campuses will eventually serve 2,300 pupils. The school is currently rated 'Band A', which is a very good rating by Abu Dhabi department of Education and Knowledge (Adek).
"The opening of this new campus will give a tremendous boost to our mission to innovate in terms of our approach to teaching and learning by providing specialist facilities," said Robert Relton, principal, Repton School Abu Dhabi.
"We have a curriculum that blends the best of the British schooling system and the vibrancy of UAE culture aligned to our vision to be the premier technology school in the UAE while being supported by our achievement of being an Apple Distinguished School."
He added that the success of Repton has also been due to the strong support from the parent community. "We look forward to creating a truly inclusive and supportive learning environment for our pupils while continuing to set high academic standards," said Relton.
Khaled Al Mheiri, chairman, Evolvence Knowledge Investments, said: "We are very pleased to open this new campus to support our vision of offering world-class education to children in Abu Dhabi. We are committed to supporting the UAE leadership's emphasis on education."
The school fees per year ranges from Dh55,000 to Dh74,000 for FS1 (KG1) to Year 13.
