Curtin University is establishing a campus in the United Arab Emirates, in the Dubai International Academic City, with degree programmes set to commence in January 2018.
The campus strengthens Curtin's standing as a global university and a recognised international leader in research and education.
Curtin University Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said the campus will expand upon Curtin's current global footprint in a major and new geographical region. "The campus will offer Curtin programs to students from the Middle East, the Indian Sub-Continent, Africa and Central Asia," Professor Terry said. The UAE' government priorities for economic development and potential skills gaps, has informed Curtin's proposed course offerings. "The initial courses will include a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Business, Science, as well as the Humanities," Professor Terry said. "Additional courses will be rolled out progressively in subsequent years." Mohammad Abdullah, Managing Director of Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Knowledge Park said: "Dubai International Academic City is delighted to support Curtin University's expansion. As a highly ranked Australian university, we are excited by the addition of another outstanding academic partner to complement our diverse higher education community."
