DPS Sharjah alumnus tops gobal accountancy exam

A former Delhi Private School (Sharjah) student has won the top score and the Watts Prize in the latest ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA) exams.
Roshan Ramesh, 22 years old, is the first self-funded, UAE-based student to have won an international prize in the ICAEW exams.
The Watts Prize is awarded to the candidate who gets the highest global marks in the Audit and Assurance paper.
The Dubai-born and raised Ramesh scored 98 per cent on it. "I was overwhelmed and surprised when I received the results earlier this year, as it is quite a challenge to score high in these exams," he told Khaleej Times.
The examination Ramesh took in December 2015 is part of the internationally-recognised ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification, held for over 145,000 professionals across more than 160 countries worldwide.
Having completed his Bachelor's in Accounting and Finance (Honours) from Warwick Business School in the UK, 22-year-old Ramesh chose to top up his professional qualification back in Dubai, with the highly-respected ICAEW Chartered Accountant designation.
After moving back to Dubai last year, he studied for the exam as an independent student, before coming out tops.
97 per cent of the 100 Best Global Brands employ ICAEW Chartered Accountants, and many go on to become heads of their organisations.
Come September, Ramesh also starts work for the Dubai office of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
