The Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance has commenced the first phase of evaluating the entries it received for its 16th edition.
Announcing this, Dr Jamal Mohammed Al Muhairi, secretary-general of the award management, said there has been a 100 per cent plus increase in participations in the category of Distinguished University Student this cycle.
The total number of entries has risen by 25 per cent to 424 in the local competition, 65 in the Gulf competition and 37 in the international competition. He said the jury would continue to evaluate works till January 4.
The award aims at improving the quality of the educational system, and supporting all pre-higher education learners and institutions entrusted with educating these learners.
