The IACBE accredits excellence in associates, bachelors, masters and doctoral-level degree programmes in business and business-related fields at institutions with bachelor’s and/or graduate degree programmes throughout the world.

“The IACBE accreditation is a milestone achievement for Institute of Management and Technology, Dubai. The accreditation is extremely important and significant for our MBA programme as it positions it with international standards to achieve excellence in higher education,” Dr Farhad Rad-Serecht, Director, IMT Dubai, told Khaleej Times.

The IACBE accredits excellence in associates, bachelors, masters, and doctoral-level degree programmes in business and business-related fields at institutions with graduate degree programmes throughout the world. The accreditation, the institute believes, will help its students.

“The IACBE accreditation will bring us on par with other international universities that have similar accreditation. This will help in student exchange programme and initiation of a double degree programme. For a student, this helps in terms of exposure from an employment perspective,” Dr Serecht said.

“There is a disconnect between what is taught in the class and what is applied in the real world. But now many courses are re-designed to bridge the disconnect. With the IACBE accreditation, we are bringing our course to an internationally recognised standard,” he added.

The IACBE evaluates business programmes in major areas: outcomes assessment, strategic planning, curriculum, faculty, scholarly and professional activities, resources, internal and external relationships and educational innovation.

The IMT Dubai’s business courses are unique as they lay emphasis throughout the two-year programme on practical application at work place by undertaking company projects on small group basis. The Dubai Academic City-based institution will introduce a three degree undergraduate programme by September 2012. Under the new programme, the students will spend a year each in Dubai, France and the United States.
