Elekta unveils new range of products

Elekta is unveiling its latest 65-inch super-slim full-HD ELED smart TV sets that could be connected with the Internet through Wi-Fi and ethernet.

Dubai — Elekta, a leader in consumer electronics and home appliances, is unveiling a range of technologically-advanced products that are being offered at very affordable prices.

These include six models of entangled light-emitting diode smart television ranging from 48- to 65-inch super-slim full-HD television sets and five models of tablet PCs ranging between seven- to 10-inch screens.

For Elekta, a Dh1 billion annual turnover conglomerate with footprints in 70 countries, the launch of these technologically-advanced products is expected to boost its product range of 500 types of IT, consumer electronics and household appliances products and expand customer base.

In the television segment, Elekta is unveiling its latest 65-inch super-slim full-HD ELED smart TV sets that could be connected with the Internet through Wi-Fi and ethernet. This is amongst six new models that the company is launching. It is also launching 50-inch UHD 3D smart TV sets for tech-savvy consumers that fit into their lifestyles.

In the tablet PC segment, Elekta is unveiling the Etab 1031MKII, a 10.1-inch Wi-Fi tablet with the Android operating system that comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of flash memory.

Among the other tablets, Elekta is launching seven- to eight-inch variations of tablets to suit different tastes and budgets — all running on the Android operating system.

“These products will help our customers migrate to a new and advanced level of sophistication. As the world of technology shift gear to a new level, we feel it is our responsibility to offer the best technologies with an affordable price,” said Rajan Mathrani, managing director of Elekta Gulf, owner of the Japanese brand Elekta. “The new product range widens our product offerings and the customers now have a better choice to pick from.”

A total 3.45 million PC tablets were shipped into the Middle East and Africa region in the fourth quarter of 2013, up 111 per cent year-on-year, according to a report from the International Data Corporation.

The UAE’s consumer electronics market is one of the largest in the Gulf and according to some estimates accounts for 40 per cent of regional spending. According to the Business Monitor International, the UAE’s consumer electronics devices market, defined as a market for computing devices, audio, video, mobile handsets and gaming products, is projected to grow by 26 per cent from the estimated sale value of $3.4 billion in 2011 to $4.3 billion by 2015.
