Rabat — England’s Ross McGowan led his team to a narrow victory in the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam Open Pro Am ahead of the Mena Golf Tour’s opening event of the season on Friday.
In a first for the tour, the event saw 12 teams, spearheaded by some of the leading players, team up with local amateurs to mark start of the tournament week.
Consisting of Ismail El Glaovi, Majid Bennis and Yousef Boublaid, the team of McGowan returned an impressive score of 20 under to take the honours.
The team of Spain’s Carlos Balmaseda finished second one shot adrift while the team of England’s Joshua White took the third place on 18 under.
Mohamed Juma Buamaim, chairman of the Mena Golf Tour, and Abderrahmane Bouftas, president of the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam Club presented the prizes.
