Over 250,000 people participated in the voting platform for the upcoming UAE Drones for Good Awards, the organising committee announced on Wednesday.
The voting platform - which can be found on dronesforgood.ae and roboticsforgood.ae - received enormous interest when voting began for the best-qualified teams in the semi-final round of the competition, which will be held between February 4 and 6 at Dubai Internet City. Voters are able to learn about the various projects through video clips and detailed explanations of the drones and how they can benefit society.
Organisers are urging the public to visit the online platform and vote for the projects that most inspire them and can have an effect on their daily lives. Voting will close on February 3.
The teams with the top votes will be honoured, even if they are not selected by the judging committee to go on to the finals. The Drones for Good Award aims to highlight the use of unmanned aircraft technologies to improve the lives of people.
