His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received this evening at Al Bateen Palace, the clerics, who are guests of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The guests were accompanied by Dr. Mohammed Mattar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
Mohammed bin Zayed welcomed the scholars and exchanged greetings with them on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, praying to Allah Almighty to bless the UAE, Arab and Islamic nations, and bestow on them more prosperity.
Mohammed bin Zayed and the clerics exchanged cordial talks about the revival of Ramadan nights by holding sermons aimed at enlightening people about the religious teachings enriched with culture and knowledge.
Mohammed bin Zayed wished the clerics success in delivering the sermons, stressing that the responsibility on their shoulders is huge as they enlighten the Islamic societies, spread tolerance, and tackle extremism that tarnishes the image of Islam.
For their part, the scholars and preachers expressed their satisfaction at being in the UAE to participate in this annual great tradition, established by the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to hold sermons, religious and social programmes during the Ramadan. They wished more progress and prosperity to the UAE and its people.
The scholars, guests of the UAE President, hold sermons every year as part of the Ramadan programme under the supervision of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.
