The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Standing Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai to enhance their health and safety.
His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board, Director General of the DHA reassured that the UAE, since its inception, has established laws and regulations that ensure the rights of labor workers that ensures their wellbeing and safety, which has enabled it to embrace more than 200 nationalities from all over the world.

He added that all the laws and regulations that safeguard the rights of workers are based on the values that characterizes the UAE's society. It is also based on the origins of the state and its culture, which established the principles of coexistence.
The MoU was signed on Sunday.
The MoU was signed by Al Qutami and Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Surour, deputy director of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai and chairman of the Standing Committee for Labour Affairs.

Enhance healthcare of workers

The MoU aims to:
- Open cooperation between both parties to enhance the healthcare of labourers in Dubai
- Raise awareness among them about leading a healthy lifestyle, and educate them on how to maintain their health and fitness.
- It also aims to increase their interaction with health campaigns that provide free comprehensive medical examinations.
- Increase the level of satisfaction amongst workers and support them in having a healthy environment in both their houses and workplace.
Al Qatami pointed out that quality healthcare is one of the priorities of the UAE in general and Dubai in specific, which is why the DHA exerts great effort to preserve the health and safety of labor workers through ongoing health awareness and prevention campaigns.
It also conducts free medical examinations for labor workers at their housing communities and their workplace.
