Shaikh Mohammed briefed on Dubai Municipality projects

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has visited Dubai Municipality.

He was accompanied by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai in addition to a number of officials.

Shaikh Mohammed was briefed on a number of development schemes and services projects implemented by Dubai Municipality in different parts of the emirate.

Meanwhile, Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality in a presentation explained about Al Mamzar Beach development project which is one of the investment projects carried out by the municipality, including the construction of shopping centres and recreational facilities.

Shaikh Mohammed was also briefed on projects of Al Khoor waterfront, the new housing project at Al Barsha and Al Aweer, Jebel Ali chalets and restoration of Dubai’s old markets, ‘Souk Al Dukhoon’ and ‘Souk Al Jumaa’.

The presentation highlighted the significance of these projects as touristic attractions and added-economic value. Once completed, these projects will provide substantial services to Dubai’s residents and visitors such as spaces for outdoor activities with its green areas, shaded pedestrian flyovers and sidewalks.

During his visit, Shaikh Mohammed signed the Heritage Fingerprint Initiative, introduced by Architectural Heritage Department of Dubai Municipality aiming to boost Emirati culture and traditions as well as preserve architectural and social value.

Commending Dubai Municipality’s efforts, Shaikh Mohammed expressed satisfaction with the projects hoping that they will bring prosperity to UAE’s citizens and emphasize the country’s economic, cultural and touristic position in the regional and global map.
