His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday reiterated the unwavering stance of the UAE, under the leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in support of the Yemeni people, their national will and the legitimacy representing them.
Shaikh Mohammed was speaking at Qasr Al Bahr Palace where he received a number of Yemeni National Resistance leaders who came to thank the leaders and people of the UAE for their historic stance in support of rights, justice and aspiration for security, stability and development in Yemen.
Shaikh Mohammed described the stance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, for Yemen as historic. He added that the UAE backs this stance because it backs rights, a pan-Arab cause and joint action.
The UAE-Saudi relations, within the Arab Coalition, successfully passed the test in Yemen, thanks to confidence, joint action and shared sacrifices, Shaikh Mohammed said. "We consider this cooperation as a source of light that guides us all to serve the interests of the Arab World," he added.
He explained: "The Arab World is facing difficult challenges that spare none of us and could very well face the coming generations if we do not have a unified stance."
"During the test in Yemen, we discovered how strong unified positions and decisiveness can be. A pan-Arab national agenda is capable of countering the coming challenges. Private and limited agendas are, however, responsible for many setbacks and for the surrounding disintegration that threatens our future as much as it does the future of our children," the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince said.
He also praised the Yemeni National Resistance for showing true patriotic allegiance and a sense of historic responsibility as they continue to counter aggression and regional greedy ambitions and recognised how dangerous the rebels' coup in Yemen was for pan-Arab security and the history and identity of peoples of the Arab World.
During the meeting, the visiting Yemeni National Resistance leaders praised the UAE for its historic stance and support for the people of Yemen.
They also praised the sons of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, for their courage, sacrifices for Yemen, noble values and manners.
They stressed that the role being played by the UAE as part of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition and its support for Yemenis has saved not only Yemen but also the whole region from regional plots and greedy ambitions.
