This card grants its bearer discounts, ranging from 15 per cent to 45 per cent in more than 35 commercial establishments in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Announcing this, Dr Ayyoub Badri, Director of Dubai Educational Zone, said the zone received a suggestion regarding this matter from Rashida Badri, Deputy Director of the zone for private education, a day after she received her new post.
Dr Badri called for preparing a statistical report on the number of the private schools in the zone and their classification in accordance with the curriculataught by them. He also said a list of all workers in the private sector needed to be issued. The discount cards will be given free.
Rashida Badri said that the coming weeks will see a number of meetings among the heads of the private sector departments. She added that the educational zone is still receiving many offers from service establishment, hotels and restaurants, but the zone is acting cautiously in accepting the offers for getting the best discounts.
Fatima Khamis, Director of the Private Institutes Department, said that the establishments which accept discount cards include Juma Al Majid Est. (all its items), Dnata (for travel on all its airlines), Taj Palace Hotel, Dubai, Welcare Hospital, Arabian Cars Company, Armed Forces Club and their restaurants and all branches of Grand Stores. She added in case of purchase of a car from automobile companies or air tickets, it is advisable to consult the educational zone, employees department, to collect application forms to get group discounts over and above the card discount.
