Unveiling the opening of the event, Saeed Al Nabouda, the CEO of DSS said: “As we celebrate the launch of the 10th edition of DSS today, we look back with pride on the great achievements accomplished in the past years. DSS has become a huge success story on a global scale. DSS 2007 will appeal to a wide range of visitors as it offers great family entertainment, amazing shopping promotions, and dazzling prizes.”
Al Nabouda urged the visitors and residents to enjoy the DSS experience this year and to participate in the over 200 events and activities that will further enhance Dubai’s position as the leading summer destination.
He has also hailed the cooperation between the public and private sectors in making DSS the most anticipated summer event in the region. “It clearly affirms the commitment of the private sector in realising the objectives of DSS that are congruent with the long term economic and social plans for Dubai. The cooperation between the private and public sectors has substantially contributed to the transformation of DSS from a regional event into a global spectacle,” Al Nabouda pointed out.
In addition to shopping malls lining up the 10 surprises for this year’s DSS on rotation basis, and the Modhesh Fun City at Airport Expo, a big attraction this year is the spa packages at special prices tailored for DSS visitors throughout the 10 weeks of DSS (June 21 to August 31). The spa treatments are designed to provide visitors with a wide variety of stress relief, relaxation, and beauty treatments that cater to every segment of travellers — from the curious to dedicated health and spa tourists. The participating spas will offer exclusive DSS packages at special rates, promoting a lifestyle of health, wellness and rejuvenation, making the summer not just bearable but enjoyable. The packages are an initiative of the DSS Office aimed at promoting Dubai as the hub of spas in the Middle East.
