Zayed’s Desert Garden opens in Hamburg

HAMBURG — The Shaikh Zayed International Desert Botanical Garden was inaugurated here yesterday. It occupies a 2,800 square-metre space.

The garden’s administration said that the spectacular garden was a gift to Germany by late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who had exerted efforts to transform his own country into a spectacular garden. They affirmed that the gift was a pride to the city and people of Hamburg.

On the occasion of the official opening ceremony of the garden, Mohammed Al Sayed said: “Shaikh Zayed was not simply the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of the UAE for many years, he was also a great visionary.”
