I would really like to appreciate Iran for taking up this matter seriously and trying their level best to save the Asiatic Cheetah. They have also marked August 31 as the National Cheetah Day since 2006. I feel that all countries should take inspiration and try to save all animals as they help in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.

The Asiatic Cheetah is now found only in Iran. Along with the Eurasian lynx and leopard, it is one of three remaining species of large cats. It belongs to the Felidae family in the Animala kingdom. Asiatic Cheetahs once ranged from Arabia to India, through Iran, Central Asia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. In Iran and the Indian subcontinent, it was particularly numerous.

Cheetahs are the only big cat that can be tamed and trained to hunt gazelle. There are no other Asiatic Cheetahs like the one that we have, so it is essential for us to conserve our biodiversity by protecting this animal. Due to all these significance of the Asiatic Cheetah, I personally feel that all of us must take up the initiative in saving the cheetahs.
