Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) officially welcomed Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdallah bin Sultan Al Nuaimi, President of the Ajman Ports and Customs Authority and his delegation to Khalifa Port.

Shaikh Mohammed was accompanied by Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Customs Inspection Manager, Ajman Ports; Nasser Obaid Al Suwaidi, customs tariff manager; and Khalifa Abdallah Bu Shehab, customs policies manager from Ajman, who came to see Khalifa Port, including the port’s semi-automated container terminal – the first of its kind in the GCC region.

“We are delighted to welcome Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdallah bin Sultan Al Nuaimi and his delegation at ADPC; the visit has given us the opportunity to showcase our state-of-the-art facilities and operations at Khalifa Port, and we would be honored to welcome his excellency again in the near future,” said Capt. Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO, ADPC.

The delegates visited Khalifa Port’s Terminal Operations Building (TOB), from where they could see the port’s cutting edge container yard operations, including its nine Super Post Panamax ship-to-shore (STS) quay cranes, some of the largest and most modern cranes in the world. According to a report published by the Journal of Commerce (JOC), the Khalifa Port container operations now rank number five in the EMEA region for port productivity.
