his year’s event. dubbed “2009 — Crossroads for Trade and Technology,” to be held from March 10 to 12, will be attended by delegates from the World Trade Organisation, World Bank and leading global trade and finance banks from more than 100 countries.

The event’s joint hosts, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), said around 400 delegates are expected to actively discuss pressing issues affecting the banking and finance sector.

“This high profile even coming at these financially cruel times will show the world community our resolve to deal with the crisis while it will also promote Dubai as international business hub,” said Eng Hamad Buamin, director general of DCCI.

Some of the topics to be discussed are the final touches to the Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees, recent anti-money laundering initiatives, and the impact of the global financial crisis.
