Liberty Automobiles Company Targets Sales Growth of 50PC on Sports Cars

DUBAI - Liberty Automobiles Company, a member of the UAE-based Liberty Investment Company, is targeting sales growth of 50 per cent on its sports or performance cars, as it revs up its sales strategy for its sports range comprising Corvettes, Luminas, Caprices and CSVs (Chevrolet Speciality Vehicles), said a Press release on Thursday.

The company unveiled the strategy at the launch of a dedicated Performance Car Corner, housed within the Sharjah showroom - the world’s largest General Motors retail showroom.

“Performance cars evoke strong passion in car enthusiasts. Our Performance Car Corner has been designed to stoke this passion by creating a racing arena ambience through graphics on the wall and authentic touches all over the section,” said Rajesh Krishnan, General Manager, Chevrolet Division, Liberty Automobiles.

The launch of the Performance Car Corner was attended by officials from General Motors, car enthusiasts, UAE Corvette Club members led by its president Abdullah Lootah and several loyal Liberty Automobiles customers.

John Bassil, Marketing Manager of Liberty Automobiles, said ‘‘The company registered growth of over 30 per cent in overall sales in 2008.”
