The expo will showcase a wide range of food and beverages, hotel equipment and supplies, kitchen and catering equipment as well as food processing technologies and packaging products, organisers of the exhibition Omanexpo said.

The show will also feature products and equipment related to agriculture and fisheries, hotel décor and style, and hospitality technologies. “This show was previously known simply as Food Expo, and we have re-branded it this year in light of the exciting developments in Oman’s hotel industry, said CJ Paul, general manager of Omanexpo.

He noted that the event was being held at a time when the sultanate’s food and hospitality industries were “experiencing rapid growth as more prestigious properties and new hotels are built for the rising number of tourists visiting Oman every year. The various development projects now ongoing in many parts of the country are paving the way for the establishment in Oman of globally-known hotel brands, including Kempinski, Fairmont, Four Seasons, Anantara, Banyan Tree, Movenpick, Rotana, and many others.”

The exhibition, he added, would display all requirements in the day-to-day operations of hotels, restaurants, hypermarkets, groceries and food manufacturing firms. It would bring together the largest gathering in Oman of hotel operators, chefs, hypermarket executives, restaurant managers, caterers, housekeeping managers, and other industry professionals, Paul said. ravindranath@khaleejtimes.com
