This agreement represents the core strategy of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, or TRA, including the strengthening of the UAE ICT sector and the development of national human capital, especially in the ICT field, TRA Director General Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim said.

TRA and the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats, or IMPACT, Alliance, signed the agreement, where the TRA represented one of its initiatives, the UAE Computer Emergency Response Team, or aeCERT, which was accredited by the Ministerial Council for Services as the National CERT of the UAE.

Based in Malaysia, IMPACT Alliance is an international organisation that encompasses one of the most advanced and informed Global Response Centre, or GRC. It has partnerships with a number of multinational corporations and relevant public entities to provide faster alerts on cyber threats. — abdulbasit@khaleejtimes.com
