The three-day meeting will see global leaders discussing the challenges for trade finance caused by the current global financial crisis. ICC UAE is hosting the event with its partner, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event will see experts putting the final touches to the Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees and discussing the challenges for business, trade and finance caused by the global crisis.

Local and international representatives from leading trade and finance banks and related organisations are expected to attend.

“This meeting is an opportunity for those in trade finance to analyse and discuss the challenges posed by the economic meltdown around the world and the fear of protectionism now effecting trade financing activities and to have the opportunity of participating in the re-shaping of the Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees,” Dr. Ahmed Saif Belhasa, chairman of ICC UAE.

The ICC UAE also announced a “One Day Workshop for International Trade Finance Practitioners” on March 9, 2009.
