Let your skin shine bright like a diamond with these helpful expert tips
Gone are the days when glowing skin was only a woman's top priority! Now, everyone yearns for soft, smoother, and of course, blemish-free glowing skin.
With each of us engulfed in hectic schedules, irregular eating habits, inadequate sleep, and pollution, achieving flawless and picture-perfect, glowing skin has become difficult if not an impossible task. Keep this skin routine in mind to ensure young, radiant and supple skin.
Skincare routine
Glowing skin has a smooth texture and hence, is able to reflect light to give your face a glow. To begin with, follow a skincare routine religiously using products that suit your skin. Try and avoid harsh chemicals, sulfates, parabens, phthalates, dyes and fragrances.
Ideal skincare routine for glowing skin:
Cleanse twice a day:Â Include cleansing as part of your morning and night skincare ritual. Limit it to two times a day as over-cleansing can strip off essential oils from your skin and can interfere with your skin's natural ph. Choose your cleanser according to your skin type. Consult an expert to narrow down on skin products.
Exfoliate your skin: Our skin makes dead skin cells in the dermal layer. Exfoliation is a process that helps you get rid of the dead skin cells. They come in chemical, physical and enzymatic forms. Use a gentle facial scrub once a week to wash away the dead skin cells. Mix honey with lemon juice, sugar and turmeric powder for a DIY exfoliant.
Moisturise twice a day:Â Does moisturising your skin feel like a chore? Think again! It helps in repairing the barrier of your skin and prevents water loss. Besides, moisturisation offers your skin a slight shine. They come in different forms like creams, lotions, gels and serums suitable for different skin types. Choose your moisturiser according to your skin type.
Stay hydrated
Drink two to three litres of water every day. Your skin needs hydration from your food and water intake. This will eventually show and your skin will become soft and supple.
Sound sleep
Adequate sleep assists in cell turnover and exfoliation. Ensure eight hours of sound sleep for glowing skin. When you get enough sleep, collagen, the protein responsible for your skin's elasticity, is produced, making your skin look younger and plump.
Home remedies
Your kitchen has a lot of ingredients that can restore your skin's beauty and can offer radiant-looking skin.
