A new mosque in Al Dheit South, Ras Al Khaimah, will be named after the UAE martyr Hassan Abdullah Mohammed Al Beshr.
The instructions have been issued by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, who has helped fund the grand masjid's construction.
"This is in honour of the martyrs who (willingly) sacrificed their soul and blood in the battlefield for their beloved country," Sheikh Hamdan said. "Their sacrifice shall remain as a noble reminder of their loyalty to the nation and its leadership."
The masjid, which can accommodate over 1,200 people at a time, features a modern design accentuated with Islamic art. Convenient praying spaces, parking areas and toilets for the people of determination have been carefully incorporated in the planning and construction.
