Abu Dhabi - The police teams executed the plan and arrested the three men while seizing a large quantity of hashish and narcotic pills.
Three Asian men were nabbed and 380kg of hashish as well as 400,000 pills of other narcotic substances seized from them during a sting operation carried out by the Abu Dhabi Police.
Col. Taher Gharib Al Dhaheri, director of the anti-narcotics directorate in the criminal security sector at Abu Dhabi Police, said the men were arrested after the department received classified information about the gang who possessed a large quantity of drugs and were planning to promote the narcotics in the emirate, essentially among youths.
He said a plan was chalked out to arrest all members of the gang red-handed with the drugs.
Al Dhaheri pointed out that the police teams executed the plan and arrested the three men while seizing a large quantity of hashish and narcotic pills.
The men confessed to dealing drugs and have been referred to the public prosecution for legal action.
Brig. Gen. Muhammad Suhail Al Rashidi, director of the criminal security sector at Abu Dhabi Police, said the men aligned with a drug gang based outside UAE which supplied them with the narcotics and targeted youths in the country.
Police said their anti-narcotics teams were very vigilant and fully equipped to combat drug dealers.
