At least two women in Georgia have died after they could not access abortion-related medical care in their state, claims a news outlet
Lt-Gen Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, said the gang was trying to take advantage of the current Covid-19 precautionary measures to promote the drugs.
He praised the intensive efforts made by the General Department of Anti-Narcotics and stressed that the seizure was carried out with sophisticated planning and high professionalism.
"The operation highlights the great potentials our officers as they managed to closely monitor the gang's movements from the moment the relevant department received the information about the gang's activity until the raid," Lt-Gen Al Marri said.
Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, assistant commander-in-chief for Criminal Investigations Affairs at the Dubai Police, revealed that the General Department of Anti-Narcotics had received tip-off about the gang members who attempted to promote their drugs among the youth.
"The anti-narcotic team successfully arrested the criminals in a timely manner and seized 59kg of illegal drugs, including 26kg of heroin and 33kg of crystal meth," Maj-Gen Al Mansouri said.
After receiving the information about the gang's activities, the drug dealer and his accomplices were put under constant surveillance for 12 days. During this period, all gang members as well as the vehicles they used to deal drugs were identified by the police.
"Two suspects, including the gang leader were arrested red-handed while they were transporting the drugs. The other two suspects were arrested in front of their residence in Dubai," said Brigadier Eid Muhammad Thani, director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics at the Dubai Police.
Lt-Gen Al Marri lauded the role of the investigation and control team who worked on this operation with skill and competence.
