Man stabs woman to death in Sharjah apartment

A 38-year-old Sri Lankan man stood trial for stabbing a 28-year-old compatriot woman at her residence in Maysaloon area of Sharjah.

The man has denied the accusations in court.

The control room had dispatched a team of forensic experts and ambulance after receiving a phone call. Upon reaching the site, the officials found the woman in a pool of blood, and picked up fingerprints and other evidence.

The police then formed a team of CID officers to investigate the crime and arrested the suspect.

The man later confessed to the crime during investigation and said he had an illicit relationship with the victim.
