A clever monkey at a zoo in China stunned visitors when it shattered the glass wall of its enclosure by repeatedly striking it with a rock. Video footage shows the Colombian white-faced capuchin holding the rock with both hands and smashing it onto the glass in a bid to escape. After repeatedly hitting the display wall, the monkey manages to crack the entire glass pane, scaring visitors. The video shows the monkey getting frightened as the glass pane cracks and runs in the opposite direction. "The monkey scared itself away, but it came back to take another look and even touched it. This monkey is unlike other monkeys. This one knows how to use tools to break walnuts," Metro quoted zoo staff member, Tian Shuliao, as saying in local media. A zoo visitor named Wang claimed that the clever monkey had been sharpening the stone. "The monkey was sharpening the stone, then it started hitting it on the glass." This is the first time the capuchin has tried to break glass enclosure. "This is the first time. It's toughened glass, so it would never have got out. After it happened, we picked up all the rocks and took away all its 'weapons'," Shuliao added.
