The UAEJJF completed its final preparations at Al Ain Sports Club ahead of the 5th edition of the Al Ain International Jiu-Jitsu Championship, and the arrival of participating players from over 45 countries. The championship will be held on 26-27 October.
During the first day, matches will start at 2pm and the day will be dedicated to the NoGi male category. The second day will be dedicated to Gi competitions for male and female athletes, starting at 11 am. The international participation in this edition highlights the success of previous championships, by attracting a range of nationalities and belt categories to participate under the supervision of international referees.
The championship is one of the biggest local events on the 2018-19 season calendar. This weekend will see a selection of renowned international athletes compete, including Danilo Barbosa Moreira and Ricardo Evangelista both from Brazil, as well as Jordan's Basel Fanous. It is also designed to develop the skills of the Emirati teams and provide them with a chance to practice the techniques needed for upcoming international championships.
For his part, Mohammed Bin Dalmouk Al Dhaheri, UAEJJF Board Member, said: "The 5th edition of this international championship is incredibly exciting and we look forward to seeing what the professionals will add to this weekend's championship and wish them all the best."
