Sixth grader Aakash Deep Singh of The Millennium School-Dubai broke the national meet record when he clinched the 50m backstroke event for boys under-12, in the CBSE National Swimming Championship, at the Karan Public School, Meerut in India.
He won gold in a time of 35.11 seconds in the 50m contest and also won silver in the 100m freestyle race, this time clocking his personal best.
Aakash represented the region in the CBSE National Championship by winning the individual championship in the CBSE Cluster's championship, held at The Millennium School-Dubai earlier this year.
