Triple-lens camera structure consisting of a telephoto lens, a 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48MP main camera It's no secret that smartphones have been steadily replacing most people's cameras in recent years. New features, more pixels, and intuitive corrections are all enhancing the quality of our mobile photography. However, one of the areas that has been underrepresented is innovation in camera smartphone zoom. That is until now. This February, global smartphone pioneers OPPO unveiled a 10x optical zoom technology that is set to reframe the competition on high-end smartphone photography. No one had ever even tested 10x zoom on a smartphone. The original pioneers of 10x zoom technology, OPPO are still the closest anyone has come to conquering the seemingly insurmountable challenge of injecting real zoom into the tight confines of a smartphone. Most other manufacturers have not even come close. Dubbed 10x Hybrid Zoom, the new technology created by OPPO offers up a triple-lens camera structure consisting of a telephoto lens, a 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48MP main camera. It's an absolute beast of product engineering. OPPO also introduced Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) on both the main camera and the telephoto lens to achieve higher, anti-shake accuracy that brings people closer to the world around them. While certainly exciting, the introduction of 10x Hybrid Zoom is only part of the OPPO photography story. The company has actually set a number of world firsts in the last decade when it comes to smartphone cameras. OPPO were the first in the world to release a 13-megapixel camera smartphone. They introduced the world's first smartphone with a rotating camera. They also revolutionized the world of smartphones with the world's first stealth 3D cameras in its OPPO Find X model. That innovation is now being fueled by an announced $1.4 billion worth of R&D investment by OPPO this year, a 150% year-on-year increase. The move reinforces OPPO's growing global brand-one that is set on introducing new technologies to address consumer pain-points in smartphone usage. With more zoom, more lenses, more sophistication, and all in a lighter package, the 10x Hybrid Zoom is another example of how OPPO is taking the smartphone industry by storm. The technology is set to make its way to consumers in the Middle East very soon, with OPPO confirming that the world-first technology will be on its next major smartphone release in the region.
