The report, titled “Transporting Today, Transforming Tomorrow”, is compiled to report the DoT’s performance against six focus areas — Congestion Relief, which is providing transportation options that encourage the growth of public transport while addressing sources of congestion through infrastructure development and parking control; Safety and Security; the Level of Service; Economic Return; Organisation; and Environmental Sustainability.

In 2013, the DoT took a number of steps in delivering its commitment to making Abu Dhabi more sustainable. These included the implementation of the school transport regulations, the introduction of personal watercraft registration and regulation, the launch of Park and Ride services, and the growth of its Transport Mobility Management programme.
