Dh500 fine, 4 black points: UAE police launch new safety campaign

Abu Dhabi - The police urged motorists to check their vehicle tyres regularly to avoid driving on damaged and expired ones to prevent crashes.

Bad and worn-out tires pose a great danger to the safety of drivers and other road users, traffic authorities in Abu Dhabi have warned.

In a new campaign on Twitter, the Abu Dhabi Police in cooperation with Saeed Company urged motorists to check their vehicle tyres regularly to avoid driving on damaged and expired ones to prevent crashes.

Motorists caught driving with damaged or worn-out tyres face a Dh500 fine, along with four black points and the vehicles are impounded for one week.
