The Department of Transport (DoT) on Monday announced another major road-network project with an estimated investment of Dh77 million.
According to the department, the work on the traffic rehabilitation project at the entrance of Dalma Mall, one of largest shopping malls in Abu Dhabi and the region, has already begun.
“The Dalma Mall road improvements project is one of the strategic initiatives by the DoT with an aim to facilitate traffic flow, raise the bar of services and safety levels for road users, whilst ensuring less traffic congestion and ability to comprehend expected increase in the number of vehicles as a result of urban development the area is experiencing,” said General Director of main roads division at the department Faisal Al Suwaidi.
He also said the Dh77 million-project will be accomplished by the end of this year, and encompasses building an 8.5-kilometre road network, setting up six traffic lights in various interchanges, and modification of the existing bridge linking Musaffah Industrial Area with Mohammed bin Zayed City to facilitate traffic flow.
DoT further called on all road users to be cautious while the work is in progress, following safety rules, and drive within speed limits to avoid mishaps.
