Located at the entrance of the emirate, en route to Dubai on the extension of Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, the Fifth Square (at National Paints), one of the key roadway to the largest area in Sharjah, was designed to absorb a projected increase in traffic due to massive growth in urban, industrial, and economic sectors, as well as tourism.

The square has been built with three levels and is expected to be completed soon to become the largest, in terms of design, size, and traffic capacity. Officials expect that it will ease traffic congestion as it directs traffic towards other emirates.

The third level of the square features a 1.2km-long, 18-metre-high bridge, one of the tallest road projects in the country. The second level will widen the existing bridge towards Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to five lanes in each direction to carry 8,000 vehicles per hour and 200,000 vehicles per day.
