A total of 94 parking spaces will be included by Ajman Municipality under paid parking zones in Liwara 1 along Mohammed Salim Bu Khamees street.
The new rules will come into effect from Sunday, November, 11.
The time slots for parking will be between 8am and 1pm during the first half of the day, and from 5pm to 9pm during the latter half.
To facilitate speedy implementation of the new rules, paid parking machines have already been instaled at the designated spots.
An official at Ajman Municipality said that the measure was adopted to reduce traffic snarls and cut down instances where people take undue advantage of the parking slots by keeping their vehicles parked for an inordinate period of time.
He also added that there will be periodic checks by vehicle inspectors to ensure the rules are being effectively implemented.
Motorists wishing to make use of paid parking will have the convenience of paying the parking fee by use of a smartphone app or by user-friendly street machines.
The new move promises to ensure easy access to parking space for residents, visitors, and shoppers alike.
