Filipinos in the UAE and all over the world will soon be able to add another destination to their list of visa-free countries. Currently, there are 61 nations that Filipinos can go to either without a visa or with a visa-on-arrival. That number will soon become 62 by September. Taiwan is the new addition.
Taiwan announced on May 16 that visa-free privileges for Filipinos will take effect starting September this year.
A Rappler report stated that it was earlier set to begin in June. The report also says Taiwan, also called the Republic of China, will announce in September 'another appropriate date' when the privilege will begin.
Currently, Filipinos who wish to travel to Taiwan for tourism or a short trip can apply for a free travel authorisation certificate, a payable e-visa or a payable visa stamped in the passport.
